In recent days, a paper titled “Parental health penalty on adult children’s employment: Gender differences and long-term consequences” coauthored by Jiayi Wen, Assistant Professor of the Department of Public Finance, School of Economics and Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), and Haili Huang, a 2023 master’s graduate of WISE, has been published in the Journal of Health Economics, a top journal in the field of health economics. This journal falls into Category A within our own tiered journal ranking system by the College of Economics.
Jiayi Wen, PhD in Economics from CEMFI, Spain, is currently an assistant professor at the School of Economics and WISE, Xiamen University. He has conducted short-term academic research and exchanges at the Academy of Macroeconomic Research of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, the Bank of Spain, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His research areas include labor economics, health economics, public economics, and applied econometrics. His main research interests are the behavioral decisions of individuals and families in a life cycle from a dynamic and heterogeneous perspective. He has presided over and completed one National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project. Haili Huang, a 2023 master’s graduate from WISE, was supervised by Jiayi Wen during her master’s years.
