The Xiamen University - University of Montpellier Joint Workshop on Environmental and Behavioral/Experimental Economics Successfully Held

On June 21, the first joint Workshop on Environmental and Behavioral/Experimental Economics between Xiamen University and the University of Montpellier was held at the University of Montpellier, France. Prof. Yinggang Zhou, Associate Prof. Zhi Li, and Assistant Prof. Jun Yan (online) from the College of Economics of Xiamen University participated in the workshop, reported their latest research results and actively engaged in international exchanges. This is another academic conference organized by the College of Economics to expand international exchanges and cooperation. Researchers from Xiamen University, University of Montpellier, Montpellier Business School, Toulouse School of Economics, and Utrecht University, joined the session presentations and discussions, focusing on environmental and behavioral/experimental economics topics such as public environmental expenditures, climate innovations, carbon markets, eco-compensation, behavioral boosts to green consumption, the external validity of reciprocal behaviors and vertical integration and foreclosure in two-sided markets, etc.


During their stay in the United Kingdom and France in mid-June, the delegation of the College of Economics not only jointly organized seminars on experimental economics and resource and environmental economics with several European and American universities, but also carried out talks and exchanges with several other academic institutions, including the Business School of the University of Edinburgh, the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the Department of Economics of the University of Cambridge. They also exchanged ideas with Prof. Matthew Jackson of Stanford University, who were then visiting the University of Cambridge, and Prof. Zhifu Mi of University College of London.
