Recently, Associate Professor Wenchao Xu of the College of Economics, Xiamen University (XMU), in collaboration with Associate Professor Pei Li of Zhejiang University and Professor Junjie Wu of North Carolina State University, published a paper titled “The impact of industrial sulfur dioxide emissions regulation on agricultural production in China” in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Volume 124, March 2024. The Journal of Environmental Economics and Management is recognized by academia as an authoritative journal in the field of environmental economics and applied economics, and falls into Class A within our own tiered journal ranking system by XMU College of Economics. The paper is part of the important achievements of the Basic Science Center for Econometric Modelling and Economic Policy Studies, National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Wenchao Xu, PhD in Economics from the Department of Applied Economics at Oregon State University, is currently an associate professor at the Department of Economics, XMU School of Economics, and Wang Yanan Institute of Economics (WISE), XMU. His research interests include agricultural land use, water resources, and individual decision-making behavior. He has published in international journals such as Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Water Resources Research, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Health Economics, China Agricultural Economics Review, and Ecological Economics.
